This notice explains how Ecomojo handles personal information when you visit or interact with our site. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
The short version
Ecomojo collects only what is necessary to run an information portal. We do not sell goods or services, and we do not share your data for marketing purposes. Most visits to this site are anonymous; the only personal information we hold is what you choose to send us directly, such as when you write to our contact address.
Data you hand over vs data we observe
Information reaches us in two ways. Voluntarily provided data includes anything you send by email — your name, email address and the content of your message. Automatically collected data includes your IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited and time spent on the site. This is gathered through server logs and, where you consent, analytics scripts.
We do not request or store payment details, postal addresses or phone numbers. We do not track your activity across other websites.
Processors and transfers
Your data may be processed by third-party services that help us run the site. These include our web hosting provider and, if analytics are enabled, services such as Google Analytics. Each processor operates under a data processing agreement that meets UK GDPR standards.
Some processors store data on servers outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we ensure that adequate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
Exercising your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to ask for corrections, to request deletion and to object to certain types of processing. You may also ask us to restrict processing or to provide your data in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected]. We will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Retention
Server logs are kept for up to 90 days, after which they are automatically deleted. Email correspondence is retained for as long as necessary to address your query, then archived or deleted within two years. Analytics data, where collected, is anonymised and retained according to the settings of the analytics provider.
If you ask us to delete your personal information, we will do so without undue delay, except where we are required by law to retain it.
Minors
This site is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.
Disclaimer: This is an information site for general purposes only. We do not sell any goods or services. If you have questions about how your data is handled, write to the address above.
