What can you pickle? Cucumbers, Beetroot, Gherkins, Courgette, Cabbage, Carrots, Peppers, Beans and Eggs, you are only limited by your imagination.
You can also use pickling spice for vegetable stews and soups. Simply place in the middle of a cheesecloth and secure with a band or string and place in the stew. Once the meal is cooked, remove from the pot and discard before serving.
How to use pickling spice mix:
- In a saucepan add pickling spice mix to vinegar with a touch of salt
- Bring to the boil and leave to cool overnight
- Add desired vegetables and pickled vinegar mix into a jar and leave for at least 48 hours to pickle before consuming
Proportions: Mix 1 Tbsp Pickling Spice with 600ml Vinegar
